Please allow us to present you, the amazingly striking posters that the Media team has delivered for this year’s

10th Anniversary of Multicultural Week in UWA!!!

An event summary of what’s going on during Multicultural Week 2009.

(It’s our 10th ANNIVERSARY, don’t forget!)1.MCW2009

Something worthy of notice: See that rainbow coloured skin of the hands? That is actually to imply that all human kinds should not judge or discriminate others based on the skin colour. Everyone should be friends with everyone and learn to accept and respect people from different cultural backgrounds.

2.Language fair

5th October – Curious and interested in exploring the wonders and unique aspects of English Language? Do come and attend this Language Fair and you shall be enlightened with issues students have with different languages, accents and pronunciation when it comes to communicating with one another. The 6 main languages discussed are: French, Italian, German, Mandarin, Japanese, and Bahasa Indonesian.

Plus point: There will be a 10% additional TEE score if a foreign language is studied at school!

3.Opening Ceremony

6th October – Opening with a BANG!! Come to the UWA Guild Courtyard and witness the Grand Opening Ceremony of MCW’s 10th Anniversary! It’s definitely going to be a blast because an exciting and vibrant range of multicultural events, activities and performances will be held to keep you entertained. In addition to that, the lucky audiences get to be invited to share a multicultural buffet! (Don’t consider, just come because you have nothing to lose!) Remember to come dressed in ETHNIC COSTUMES as this is a Cultural Event!

4.Cultural Seminar

7th October – Do you have something in mind which you would like to share? Then this is the exact seminar that you shall not miss. The topic for the seminar is “Breaking down the stereotypes.” There will be 4 speakers on that day who will take turns to share their opinions on this topic. Interested and inspired? Come on down and share your thoughts!

5.Spring Feast

8th October – *cues drumrolls* This is the highly anticipated Spring Feast that everyone in university has been raving about! Spring Feast is the largest event on the annual MCW calendar & this year’s celebration plans to be the biggest yet. Over 60 student & corporate stalls are expected to bring the culinary delights from all over the world to UWA’s doorstep so you’re in for a delightful night with performances on stage which will keep you well entertained.

Waittt, we haven’t touched on the BEST PART. As you would have noted, it’s OUR 10th ANNIVERSARY!!! 10 is a BIGGG number to hit and we guarantee not to disappoint. There will be a MAGNIFICENT CAKE-CUTTING CEREMONY as well as a momentous release of helium balloons to wrap up this special occasion!

6.AMazing race

9th October – Seen it but never done it? Now it’s time to do it! Due to the overwhelming response we received in 2008, we’re going to do it again this year! With prizes to be won and new friends to be made, there is no reason why you should not participate in this event. Teamwork, understanding and unity is crucial but if you think you fulfill all the criteria, go for it! (Starting point will be at James Oval.)
